Agotime-Ziofe MP expects increased government allocation to DACF

I’m The Member of Parliament for Agotime-Ziofe, Honourable Charles Agbeve prays for increased budgetary allocation despite the 80% direct and 8% indirect allocations earlier this year.

The legislator emphasized the urgent need to develop another city just like Accra elsewhere in a bid to spread development.

“Considering the kind of issues coming up from the districts, there’s no allocation made for roads, and you know rural development has to do with roads if farm produce are to be transported to the market centres, no provision was made for security.

Today, you and I know that chieftancy disputes have escalated stalling development,”the Agotime-Ziofe MP cited.

The MP revealed that there’s no provision for agriculture holding courting a strong campaign for rural farmers support systems in the areas of fertilizer, irrigation, machineries, amongst others.

He strongly believes that if allocations are made for specific areas, moneys meant for hospitals, schools,CHPS compound and others will not be diverted.

Secondly, the MP indicated that when the rural base is stable and developing, it gives credence to development at the top.

In lieu of the above, the Member of Parliament is pushing for a revert from the current 5% to the original 7.5% to stir up development.

“Development must move away from Accra, no, what do you want to build again in Accra or is it going to pull downold buildings and build again?,”Mr. Agbeve questioned.
