A woman has lost her life in a tragic road accident at Kwashieman in Accra earlier this morning.
According to an eyewitness account, the victim was crossing the road when the traffic lights reportedly turned green for oncoming vehicles. She is said to have been caught in the middle of the road at the time and was struck by a speeding car.
The impact proved fatal, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are yet to officially release her identity pending notification of family members.
Police officers arrived shortly after the incident to secure the area and begin preliminary investigations.
The driver of the vehicle is expected to assist with inquiries as authorities work to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the accident.
