Hope Restored in Aflao: Deputy Women’s Organizer Rebuilds Livelihood After Devastating Theft

A renewed sense of hope has emerged in Aflao following a swift and compassionate intervention by Ketu South Constituency Deputy Women’s Organizer, Xornam Favour Alayi-Hussey (Xornam Favour Ignatius-Dei), who stepped in to restore the livelihood of a local dressmaker after a heartbreaking theft incident.

In a powerful demonstration of empathy and responsive leadership, Xornam Favour Alayi-Hussey today donated two brand-new sewing machines and an undisclosed sum of money to Madam Lucky Fiadohu, a dedicated branch women’s organizer and dressmaker whose shop was ransacked by thieves earlier this week.

The incident, which threatened to derail Madam Fiadohu’s source of income, has instead sparked a renewed wave of solidarity and support within the community.

What was meant to silence a hardworking woman has become a story of resilience and restoration.

“This intervention goes beyond a donation,” observers noted. “It sends a clear message that in times of crisis, no one is left behind.”

With her tools replaced and financial support secured, Madam Fiadohu now has a second chance to rebuild her business, regain stability, and continue contributing meaningfully to her community.

A Leader Who Shows Up Consistently

This latest act of support is part of a broader pattern of impactful leadership by Xornam Favour Alayi-Hussey, both in her role as Deputy Women’s Organizer in the Volta Region’s largest constituency and through her humanitarian work with The Dei Foundation.

Since October 2018, her initiatives have touched lives across multiple regions of Ghana—Volta, Oti, Ashanti, Eastern, Western, Central, Greater Accra, and the Northern Region—through a wide range of interventions, including:

* Women and youth empowerment programs

* Skills training and capacity building initiatives

Impact in the First Quarter of 2026

Within just the first three months of 2026, her outreach has already made a measurable impact:

* Distribution of school uniforms and bags to needy students

* Financial support for school fees

* Assistance to Muslim women during Ramadan

* Organization of free health screening exercises

* Collaboration with the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to register and renew membership cards for nearly 1,000 constituents

* Linking women to funding opportunities for sustainable enterprises

* Continuous empowerment of youth and women across the constituency

A Call to Action

These efforts represent more than isolated acts of charity—they are part of a growing movement to uplift communities and create lasting change. However, the scale of need requires collective action.

Individuals, corporate institutions, NGOs, and development partners are encouraged to support and collaborate in expanding these life-changing initiatives.

Together, more lives can be touched. More communities can be strengthened. More hope can be restored.
