Possible’, ‘Sconzy’ and ‘Big Man’ Nabbed: Police Arrest Three Suspected Robbers in Axim Crackdown

In a decisive intelligence-led operation, the Axim Divisional Police Command in Ghana’s Western Region has arrested three suspected armed robbers believed to be behind a string of violent crimes in the Tarkwa Nsuaem area.

The suspects—identified as Emmanuel Arthur, alias Possible, and Elisha Arthur, alias Sconzy, both 21, and David Agyarko, alias Big Man, 22—were apprehended at a hideout in Axim, following weeks of surveillance and intelligence gathering.

A police statement issued after the arrests indicated that the trio were being sought in connection with multiple robbery incidents that had unsettled residents and businesses across the Tarkwa Nsuaem municipality.

The nature and frequency of the attacks had raised alarm among locals, prompting intensified police efforts to track down the perpetrators.

“The suspects were arrested based on actionable intelligence that led officers to their location.
“They have since been transferred to the Western Central Police Command to assist with ongoing investigations,” the statement said.
Sources close to the investigation suggest the three may be linked to organized criminal activity beyond just the Tarkwa Nsuaem enclave, though the police have yet to confirm the full extent of their operations.

Authorities have remained tight-lipped about whether weapons or stolen property were recovered during the operation.

The arrest marks a significant breakthrough in the fight against rising armed robbery cases in Ghana’s mining and commercial towns.
Law enforcement officials in the Western Region have in recent months intensified security patrols and community intelligence efforts in response to growing public concern over violent crime.

Residents of Axim and Tarkwa Nsuaem have welcomed the development, with many calling for a speedy trial and continued vigilance.
Local leaders have also urged police to sustain momentum in tracking down remaining suspects believed to be part of the same criminal network.
