The Member of Parliament for Takoradi, Hon. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, has dismissed claims that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is divided, emphasizing that the party remains united despite the presence of internal factions.
Speaking to journalists at the NPP National Delegates Conference, Mr. Darko-Mensah acknowledged that differing viewpoints and internal competition—particularly during primaries—are a normal part of party politics.
However, he was quick to add that these moments of disagreement do not undermine the party’s overall unity and shared purpose.
“Yes, there are factions, but that doesn’t mean there’s no unity.
After every internal contest, we come together to focus on the bigger picture—winning elections and delivering for the Ghanaian people,” he said.
He assured supporters that the NPP would regroup and work collectively to reclaim power in the 2028 general elections, stressing that the party remains the most capable of addressing the country’s pressing challenges.
“The NPP is the only political force with a clear vision and plan to move Ghana forward,” he stated confidently.
Mr. Darko-Mensah’s remarks come at a time when speculation about division within the party has been growing, especially following recent internal contests and leadership changes.
