Nyansapo News has confirmed that Kofi Akpaloo, leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), is currently under investigation by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
According to credible sources within the anti-corruption agency, Mr. Akpaloo is being investigated for a range of serious offences. These include fraud, causing financial loss to the state, misuse of public funds, document falsification, and suspected money laundering.
As part of the ongoing investigation, EOCO has granted Mr. Akpaloo bail set at GHC 10 million with two sureties. However, he remains in custody after failing to meet the bail conditions.
Details of the case remain limited, as EOCO officials have not yet issued an official public statement.
Nonetheless, sources familiar with the investigation indicate that it forms part of a broader crackdown on financial misconduct and the abuse of public trust, targeting both public institutions and political figures.
Nyansapo News will continue to monitor this developing story and provide updates as more information becomes available.
