The Ghana Police Service has arrested Patrick Antwi Agyei, a 22-year-old man, described by police as a notorious kidnap suspect, for his alleged involvement in the abduction of school-going children in Kumasi.

According to the Police, the suspect is believed to have targeted children and demanded ransom from their families before releasing them. Investigations indicate that Antwi was directly involved in at least two kidnapping incidents in the metropolis.

Police say the suspect had managed to evade arrest for some time but was eventually tracked down and apprehended through ongoing investigations.

The arrest is expected to bring relief to residents, particularly parents and guardians, who have expressed growing concern over recent kidnapping incidents involving children in the area.

The suspect is currently in police custody and is assisting with investigations, while efforts continue to identify and arrest any accomplices connected to the crimes.
