The Ghana Police Service has arrested five suspects in connection with a violent robbery attack that occurred in December 2025 at Nkaseim in the Ahafo Region.
According to the Police, the incident took place on December 2, 2025, when the suspects, together with other accomplices and armed with weapons, blocked the Goaso–Tepa Road and launched coordinated attacks on the Nkaseim Police Station, Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company, Kobby Gold Buying Company, and the Asutifi Rural Bank area at Nkaseim.
During the operation, the assailants allegedly made away with two AK-47 rifles and unspecified amounts of cash from the rural bank.
They also stole GH¢14,000 from the Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company and GH¢12,000 from the Kobby Gold Buying Company. In the course of the attack, an employee of the Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company was shot and injured.
Following sustained intelligence gathering and forensic investigations, the Police Anti-Armed Robbery Unit arrested Mutar Kofi, aged 35, a commercial tricycle rider, on January 16, 2026, at a location known as “Ata ne Ata” near Nkaseim. Police say he admitted his involvement in the robbery.
Further investigations led to the arrest of Mahamadu Sagio, aged 45, at Nkaseim; Shaibu Issah Jallo, also known as Jibo, aged 28, at Chereponi; and Abdul Suleman, aged 40, at Tanga near Karaga in the Northern Region.
On January 25, 2026, another suspect, Bukari Sulley, also known as Tailor, aged 25, a trader at Alaba in Kumasi, was also arrested in connection with the case.
Police say efforts have been intensified to arrest three additional suspects, identified as Dauda, Mohammed Ali, and Hoyeefi, who is believed to be the gang leader.
Hoyeefi is suspected to be in possession of the stolen AK-47 rifles and other firearms used during the robbery.
The Police have assured the public that all remaining suspects will be apprehended and made to face the full rigours of the law.
