Pregnant Woman Appeals for Release of Husband Jailed for Assaulting Her

A 22-year-old pregnant woman, Priscilla Sackey, is appealing to authorities for the release of her husband, Richard Adjei, who is currently serving a six-year prison sentence for assaulting her.

In an interview with Crime Check, Priscilla said she never intended for her husband to be jailed for such a long period.

According to her, she only reported the incident to the police in the hope that the authorities would discipline him and deter him from abusing her again.

Priscilla explained that on the day Richard was arrested, he had assaulted her twice. The situation reportedly angered her aunt, who then contacted the police to intervene.

However, Priscilla says the outcome was far more severe than she had anticipated.

Following his arrest and prosecution, Richard was convicted and sentenced to six years in prison.

Despite acknowledging that her husband had been abusive, the young mother says she now wants him released because she needs his support to care for their child, especially as she is currently pregnant.

Priscilla and Richard have been married for two years, and she insists that although their relationship has had challenges, she still hopes for reconciliation and assistance in raising their family.

Her appeal has sparked discussion among observers, with some expressing sympathy for her situation while others emphasize the seriousness of domestic violence and the importance of accountability.
