My Rise from Humble Beginnings to Parliament is a Proof that God is the lifter of Men – Dr. Sosu

The Member of Parliament for Madina, Hon. Dr. Francis-Xavier Sosu (PhD), has described his journey into politics as a divine calling and not a product of personal ambition.

According to the legislator, he never nursed any dream of becoming a politician while growing up, and attributes his current position to the grace and purpose of God.

Hon. Sosu made the revelation during a thanksgiving service and joint fellowship with constituents at the Believers House Prayer Ministry (BHPM) in Madina.

Speaking to the congregation, the human rights lawyer turned lawmaker said his life and political office serve as a symbol of hope to inspire others, especially the vulnerable and underprivileged.

“Growing up, I had no dreams and ambitions of becoming a politician. My political career is a divine calling,” he told the gathering.

“I believe God gave me that office as a symbol of hope in the Lord, to make people know and believe that God is the only lifter of men and He alone makes a nobody a somebody,” he stated.

The Madina MP, who is widely known for his advocacy for social justice, human rights, and legal support for the voiceless, said his humble background has shaped his commitment to public service and his passion for defending the marginalized.

He noted that his story should serve as encouragement to young people, particularly those from deprived backgrounds, not to despise their beginnings but to trust in God and remain focused.

“My office is a testament to God’s power to transform lives. If God can lift me, He can lift anyone. Let my story encourage every young person that destiny can change regardless of your background,” he added.
