Strengthening Law Enforcement: Dr. Francis-Xavier Sosu Backs Drug Education Programme for Madina Police

The Office of the Member of Parliament for Madina participated in a drug sensitisation engagement organised by the Narcotics Control Commission for officers of the Ghana Police Service within the La Nkwantanang Municipality.

The programme was held at the Madina Police Divisional Headquarters in Madina and focused on strengthening awareness and collaboration in the fight against drug abuse and trafficking.

MP’s Message: Choosing Discipline Over Drugs

In a speech delivered on his behalf, Hon. Dr. Francis-Xavier Sosu underscored the importance of personal responsibility and resilience.

He shared that although he grew up under difficult socio-economic conditions and was exposed to various social vices, he made a conscious decision not to engage in drug abuse.

The MP’s message highlighted the need for strong values, discipline, and community support systems to prevent young people from falling victim to substance abuse.

Call for Collaboration

Dr. Sosu called on law enforcement agencies, civil society organisations, and the broader community to work closely with the Narcotics Control Commission in Madina to tackle what he described as the growing menace of drug abuse and trafficking within the municipality.

He stressed that addressing the challenge requires coordinated action, sustained public education, and effective enforcement measures.

Commitment to the Fight Against Drugs

The MP further assured stakeholders of his commitment and full support for initiatives aimed at reducing drug abuse and related crimes in the constituency.
