Salam Mustapha Apologizes for NPP’s Defeat in the 2024 Elections: “We Failed Hugely”

The National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Salam Mustapha, has issued a heartfelt apology to party supporters in the wake of the NPP’s significant defeat in the 2024 general elections. 

Speaking candidly during an interview on Point Blank on Eyewitness News, a popular segment on Citi FM, Mr. Mustapha acknowledged the scale of the party’s loss and expressed deep regret over the outcome.

“It is with a lot of pain that I admit that we failed, and quite hugely at that,” he said.

His words were laced with sincerity as he directly addressed the gravity of the NPP’s defeat, which had significant implications not only for the party but also for its supporters across the country. 

The NPP’s loss in the 2024 elections marks one of the party’s most challenging moments, and Mustapha’s admission signified an acknowledgment of the magnitude of the setback.

The NPP Youth Organiser extended a formal apology to the entire party base, highlighting several key groups within the party structure. 

Mr. Mustapha made sure to express regret to polling station executives, electoral area coordinators, constituency executives, youth organisers, and both regional and national executives who worked tirelessly to campaign for the party. 

These individuals, who are often at the forefront of political mobilization, were recognized for their dedication and commitment to the NPP cause.

However, Mr. Mustapha reserved particular sympathy for the youth wing of the party, many of whom had placed their hopes and dreams on the NPP’s victory. 

He recognized the disappointment felt by thousands, if not millions, of young people across the country who believed that a victory for the NPP would provide them with renewed hope and opportunities.

 “I say we are very sorry from the very depths of our hearts to all the party following, especially the thousands, millions of young people who were looking up to us to win the election and give them hope,” He stated. 

Despite the overwhelming loss, Mr. Mustapha reassured the party faithful that the NPP remains determined to rebuild and emerge stronger in the future. 

Acknowledging that the defeat was painful, he expressed optimism for the party’s ability to recover, learn from its mistakes, and return to winning ways. 

He  that the party had a long-standing tradition of resilience and adaptability, which would enable it to rise above the current setback.
