VEEP Professor Opoku-Agyemang Leads Armed Forces Council in Pledge to Serve Ghana with Loyalty and Dedication

The Armed Forces Council has reaffirmed its commitment to serving Ghana with loyalty and dedication, following President John Dramani Mahama’s call for transparency, accountability, and integrity within the military.

This pledge highlights the government’s continued efforts to strengthen national security and ensure the safety of its citizens.

During a recent swearing-in ceremony, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Chairperson of the Armed Forces Council and Vice President of Ghana, addressed the council’s determination to uphold the values of service and patriotism.

She opined on the importance of the responsibility entrusted to the council assuring that they would carry out their duties with dedication and loyalty.

“As members of this council, we will rise to the responsibility and ensure that the confidence placed in us by the President is not misplaced,” she stated,

Professor Opoku-Agyemang further stressed that the council’s efforts would focus on strengthening the Ghana Armed Forces, ensuring peace, stability, and security for the nation.

This renewed pledge comes in response to President Mahama’s call for the military to uphold transparency and accountability.

The President emphasized the Armed Forces’ critical role in safeguarding the country’s peace, protecting its borders, and contributing to its democratic stability.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang stated that the council is focused on enhancing the operational capacity of the armed forces and ensuring that national security policies are aligned with the safety and well-being of the Ghanaian people.

The vice president stressed that the Armed Forces Council is dedicated to reshaping the military’s approach to safeguarding the nation.

The council’s goal is to ensure the military not only maintains peace but also strengthens its ability to respond to any threats to national security.
