In line with President John Mahama’s commitment to the effective development of Ghana’s natural resources, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Integrated Iron and Steel Development Corporation (GIISDEC), Mr. Williams Okofo Dateh, recently visited the Sheini Iron Ore Project to assess its progress.
The Sheini Iron Ore Project, located in the Tatale-Sanguli District of the Northern Region, near the Togo border, is a major part of Ghana’s strategy to build a thriving iron and steel industry.
This initiative, which is expected to have long-term economic benefits, is being developed through a partnership between the government and private sector, with Emmaland Resources Ghana Limited, a private mining company, playing a central role in its execution.
GIISDEC is overseeing the project’s development, ensuring that it adheres to proper guidelines for exploration and progress.
The visit by Mr. Dateh to meet with Mr. Emmanuel Ababio, CEO of Emmaland Resources Ghana Limited, was part of efforts to confirm the status of the project and reinforce the government’s dedication to its timely and successful completion.
The visit followed a call from the Chief of Yendi, who encouraged President Mahama to facilitate the project’s development.
During the meeting, Mr. Ababio provided evidence of the project’s progress, including the work already completed, and discussed plans for the next phases.
He highlighted the significance of the project for Ghana’s industrial development.
This visit underscores President Mahama’s commitment to ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective management of national projects.
The Sheini Iron Ore Project is seen as a key initiative in the country’s efforts to industrialize and grow economically.
The project aims to create jobs, boost local economies, and contribute to Ghana’s long-term development.
As it continues, the Sheini Iron Ore Project is expected to play a vital role in the country’s iron and steel industry, which will support manufacturing, infrastructure, and other key sectors.
