The Upper West Regional Police Command has secured the conviction and sentencing of two individuals involved in a series of armed robberies within the Wa Municipality.
Mr. Abdulai Ibrahim, also known as Baba, a 34-year-old driver’s mate, and Mr. Abdulai Kipo, a 36-year-old butcher, were found guilty of conspiracy to commit robbery and multiple counts of robbery.
The Wa Circuit Court, presided over by His Honour Jonathan Avoogo, sentenced Ibrahim to 28 years in prison with hard labour, while Kipo received 18 years.

The two were behind a series of armed attacks in communities such as Napogbakole, Danko, SSNIT, and Konta—all within the Wa Municipality.
Their arrest followed intensive intelligence-led investigations by the Regional Police Intelligence Directorate, which gathered sufficient evidence to support prosecution.
In a statement, the Upper West Regional Police Command expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the case, highlighting the importance of community cooperation in combating crime.
The police continue to urge residents to report any suspicious activities to aid in the prevention of such crimes.
