Kpandai parliamentary election was conducted in a transparent manner-Minority Caucus clarifies

The NPP minority caucus in parliament have maintain it stand clarifying  that the Kpandai parliamentary election was conducted in a transparent manner with it results reflecting the true choice of the constituents of the constituency.

According to their leader Alexander Afenyo Markin in a press statement;there were record of damaged ballot boxes in an attempt to interrupt the collation, believing that the Electoral Commission would not have the pink sheets required to complete the declaration.

Again,tension that followed created serious security risk leading  the Electoral Commission to move the final declaration to its regional office in Tamale.

The statement followed the annulment of the 2024 parliamentary election results for the Kpandai constituency and ordering of a fresh poll within 30 days by the Tamale High Court, presided over by Justice Emmanuel Brew Plange.

The petition was filed by National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate Daniel Nsala Wakpal, who claimed that the December 7, 2024, election was tainted by serious irregularities.

He alleged inconsistencies in Form 8A (the “pink sheet”) from 41 polling stations out of the total 152, arguing that these breaches violated Regulations 39 and 43 of the Public Elections Regulations (CI 127).

However, in the press statement signed by the minority leader, all NDC agents had already signed the pink sheets at every polling station across the constituency, confirming the accuracy of the results.
