Madina MP Francis Xavier Sosu Sustains Five-Year Compassion Outreach for Elderly and Vulnerable Residents

The Member of Parliament for Madina, Lawyer Francis Xavier Sosu, has once again rolled out his annual Compassion Outreach programme, reaffirming his sustained commitment to supporting elderly and vulnerable residents across the constituency.

The Compassion Outreach is a long-standing humanitarian initiative personally led by Mr. Sosu and has been consistently implemented over the past five years.

The programme targets some of the most deprived and at-risk individuals within the Madina Constituency, offering them both material and financial support to ease their daily living challenges.

Speaking to the press during the donation exercise, Mr. Sosu explained that although the outreach is traditionally organized during the Christmas season, it has on several occasions been held around New Year or Easter, depending on prevailing community needs and circumstances.

He noted that the initiative is primarily designed to provide relief to vulnerable groups, particularly the elderly, the sick, and economically disadvantaged residents across various communities in Madina.

“Through this outreach, beneficiaries receive both material and financial assistance aimed at easing their daily burdens and promoting dignity and well-being,” Mr. Sosu stated.

He added that support under the programme typically includes essential food items such as rice, eggs, and cooking oil. In some cases, beneficiaries also receive direct cash assistance to help them address urgent personal needs.

“this year’s edition recorded a significant impact, with the distribution of nearly 500 bags of rice, large quantities of cooking oil, approximately 1,000 crates of eggs, and 100 fowls. Selected beneficiaries also received cash donations to further support their livelihoods,” he said.

The Madina MP reiterated that the Compassion Outreach programme remains a central pillar of his community engagement efforts, underscoring his unwavering dedication to serving the people of Madina and uplifting those most in need.
