The Inspector-General of Police’s Special Operations Unit has arrested three suspected gang leaders believed to be behind the high-profile Adabraka gold robbery, following months of sustained surveillance and intelligence-led operations.
The arrests were carried out on Tuesday afternoon in the Ashaiman District after what police sources describe as meticulous intelligence gathering, close monitoring, and targeted tactical action aimed at dismantling the criminal network responsible for the violent robbery.

The suspects have been identified as Nashiru Abubakari, also known as “Soldiar”; Fatao Mohammed, popularly called “Motorway”; and a third suspect known only as “50Cent.” Investigators say the three are key figures within the gang linked to the crime.
Police say the operation marks a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation. Efforts are currently underway to trace and arrest other accomplices believed to be at large, while investigators are also working to recover exhibits connected to the robbery.
The suspects are presently in police custody and are expected to be processed for court in accordance with the law.

The Ghana Police Service has reaffirmed its commitment to combating organised crime and safeguarding public safety.
It has also urged members of the public to continue supporting law enforcement by providing credible information to aid ongoing investigations.
