A man has been arrested for allegedly posing as a staff member at the Office of the Vice President in a scheme to defraud individuals seeking Canadian visas.
According to reports, the suspect claimed he had connections within the military and at the Canadian Embassy, using those alleged links to convince victims he could facilitate visa processing.
Investigators say a search of his room led to the discovery of about ten Ghanaian passports, along with other personal documents believed to belong to different individuals.
Authorities suspect the documents were collected from victims as part of the alleged fraudulent scheme.
The accused has been remanded into custody and is expected to reappear in court on 3 March 2026 as investigations continue.
Police have urged the public to verify the credentials of individuals offering visa assistance and to rely only on authorised institutions when seeking travel documentation.
