A 33-year-old woman, Emmanuella Aenge-Bisi, has been arrested at the Paga border in Ghana’s Upper East Region for allegedly possessing and selling fake and unwholesome drugs.
According to authorities, the suspect was apprehended during an operation at the busy border post. She is accused of engaging in the sale of counterfeit aphrodisiacs and so-called waist pain remedies to unsuspecting customers.
Investigators say the products were not registered with, nor approved by, the appropriate regulatory bodies.

Preliminary reports indicate that she allegedly operated the business with her Nigerian husband.
Officials say she admitted during questioning to selling the products without the required authorization.
Law enforcement agencies have warned that the distribution of unregistered and counterfeit medicines poses serious health risks to the public.
They reiterated that all medicinal products must receive proper clearance from regulatory authorities before being sold.

The suspect is expected to assist with ongoing investigations, while authorities work to determine the source and distribution network of the seized products
