The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has announced a detailed schedule for the party’s upcoming branch and regional executive elections as part of its nationwide reorganisation programme.
Addressing a press conference at the party’s headquarters on Wednesday, 18 February 2026, Mr Frimpong explained that the exercise is designed to strengthen the NPP’s internal structures and prepare the party for future political activities.
Branch Elections: 15 July – 9 August 2026
Mr Frimpong stated that all processes related to branch elections — including the opening and closing of nominations, vetting of aspirants, appeals, data entry, and validation of the party album — will take place from 15 July to 9 August 2026.
He emphasised that the timelines are structured to ensure that every stage is completed within the stipulated period, allowing for a smooth progression to the next phase of internal elections.
Regional Executive Elections: Key Dates
Nominations for regional executive positions will open from 15 July to 17 July 2026. Vetting of aspirants is scheduled for 20 July to 23 July.
The appeals window will run from 24 July to 30 July, while notices of poll will be issued between 27 July and 30 July 2026.
Elections for regional executive officers are set for 8 and 9 August 2026. This will be followed by data entry and validation of results from 10 August to 23 August.
Strengthening Party Structures
According to party officials, the reorganisation exercise forms part of the NPP’s internal democratic processes aimed at restructuring its grassroots and regional leadership to enhance efficiency, cohesion, and organisational capacity.
The party maintains that the exercise is critical to reinforcing its structures and positioning it effectively for upcoming national political engagements.
